man. would anyone be interested in a game w/ the general premise "video games are their own self-contained worlds, in which most characters don't know said worlds are video games and not real"? either just a casual game w/ v simple apps or just an outright dressing room with moderators that need to keep an eye on things p well.

first draft thought thing is the rp game itself is a patchwork of a generic sims-style thing w/ added bits of the characters' worlds being rescued/recovered from deletion, slowly growing as more characters show.

shrugs!

I keep trying to think of ideas/themes that one could use for the setting although my brain just tosses me stuff from Wreck-it-Ralph and Kid Radd.

I guess a lot of it would come to 1) Everyone coming from a world which exists for a person (or, people, in some cases) and relies on the actions of said person to metaphorically bring life to that world, whether it's through controlling the heroes on a quest, using an avatar to plant crops and go through the seasons, just clicking the "next" button in the visual novel, or whatever. So what do you do when the person you exist for just isn't going to be around anymore?

And 2) video games all have their own sort of rules- even the physics from one game to another can differ dramatically, so when people from worlds with such stringent but different rules meet, how do they adjust and react to the differences?
